ADVANCED TECHNIQUES FOR PIXINSIGHT 2-DAY WORKSHOP
San Diego, CA May 2-3, 2020



Warren Keller and Ron Brecher are taking it up a notch with a highly acclaimed, 2-day interactive workshop covering advanced techniques and tools for PixInsight. This course has been designed for astro-imagers who have mastered PixInsight’s basics, and are eager to take their processing skills to the next level. The course will cover:
 

             

-WeightedBatchPreprocessing script and ImageIntegration
    -Deconvolution and multiscale sharpening
    -Adjusting dynamic range, color, and contrast
    -Mask-making tools and techniques, including StarNet++
    -Narrowband processing
    -Combining narrowband and broadband data
    -Constructing mosaics with StarAlignment and GradientMergeMosaic
    -Advanced PixelMath
In addition to group work, the agenda includes four 'Process Your Own Data' sessions where students can practice new skills, with individual guidance from the instructors. If you don’t have your own data, the instructors will provide high-quality practice data for you to work with!

Note: This is an advanced course, and the material will be covered at a fairly brisk pace. Students are expected to be proficient with the tools and techniques covered in our beginner workshop, including the user interface, projects, evaluating sub-frame quality, batch preprocessing, basic linear and non-linear processing, and saving files in various formats.
